Brittany Hanson

email Brittany, Director of Neighborhood Development

Brittany Hanson joined the inCOMMON Community Development family in the fall of 2007 as the Director of Neighborhood Development. She is currently working to develop and promote partnerships and collaboration within the Park Avenue neighborhood, where many faith leaders are coming together around the vision of renewed hope and restored strength, health, and safety in one of Omaha’s most historic neighborhoods. Brittany believes in the beauty of the neighborhood’s diversity and is confident about what is possible when neighbors join together.

Brittany graduated with a degree in Sociology and Urban Studies from Taylor University. During a stint in Los Angeles, she apprenticed with Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice as a community organizer. During her time with CLUE she organized an inter-faith campaign and committee of local religious leaders in response to local hotel workers’ struggle for a living wage. Throughout the last several years, Brittany has been profoundly impacted by relationships, work and experiences in urban neighborhoods and community development organizations; she has been honored to learn, gain inspiration from and join local neighbors, children and youth, and community leaders working to build stronger urban communities.
