Neighborhoods provide an extraordinary opportunity to alleviate poverty at a root level. The Park Ave Commons will play a powerful role in inCOMMON’s fight against poverty by ensuring low-income and vulnerable individuals and families are given the tools, opportunities, and support for life success. Utilizing a host of empowerment-based programs – offered in collaboration with multiple community partners – the Commons will assist residents in creating a stronger, more vibrant neighborhood for themselves and for future generations.

Emergency and Preventative Services
In an effort to prevent homelessness and provide aid in other crisis situations, the Commons, through a partnership with the UNO School of Social Work, will provide immediate, accessible case work and referral services to area residents.
Development and Empowerment Programs
It is the Common’s mission to not only assist area residents in situations of crisis, but partner with residents in their self-sufficiency. Accordingly, the Commons will provide a host of personal development workshops – as identified through the Listening Project – as well as job readiness opportunities.
Community Building
Because strong and vibrant neighborhoods are made up of engaged and connected residents, inCOMMON will work to bring area residents together in community. Bonds of trust and cooperation will be established through listening sessions, neighborhood action groups, block parties, cultural events, etc.
Community Collaboration
Collaboration will be the bedrock of the Commons
