Community centers are critical tools for building the social bonds needed in the formation of strong, viable neighborhoods. Compounding the issue, many Park Avenue neighbors have limited financial and transportation options to “meet up” elsewhere. By establishing the first community center in the Park Avenue neighborhood, inCOMMON has helped create a safe and friendly space where it is possible for neighbors to come together as a community.
In addition to this vital social role, the Park Ave Community Center is unique in that it offers an array of important preventative and emergency services, as well as job readiness and other personal and professional development programs. Through this comprehensive programming, the Park Ave Community Center is assisting residents in the attainment of healthy home and neighborhood conditions that promote successful and sustainable lives.
